The Lincoln Branch Library marked its 10th anniversary of its expansion and renovation.
The addition in 2010 to Peoria’s only Andrew Carnegie library expanded the South Side space from 4,570 to 16,300 square feet with a modern extension to the historic building on its 100th anniversary.
The library now has 16 public computers with another 16 in a computer lab located in one of the several meeting rooms added in the expansion. The lab has audio/visual capability and 3D pens and printer.
“You name it, we’ve got it as far as technology,” said library manager Cynthia Smith.
Local organizations like the Neighborhood House, Carver and Proctor centers and the Boys & Girls Club — as well as area schools — utilize the modernized space, which is fully equipped for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) classes.
