Area airports in line for nearly $7 million

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Rebuild Illinois will provide almost $7 million to airports in central Illinois.

General Wayne A. Downing — Peoria International Airport will receive $2.8 million in federal money and another $900,000 from the state for such things as planning, development and improvements in public safety and efficiency.

Pekin Municipal Airport is slated to receive $1.6 million from Rebuild Illinois with Mount Hawley Auxiliary Airport ($634,500) and Ingersoll Airport in Canton ($360,000) also in line for state funds. All three airports will receive $159,000 from the feds.
