The Peoria Symphony Orchestra will hold auditions for singers and comedic actors to perform with the Symphony in its upcoming season, it was announced today. The auditions will be held on Wednesday, August 10 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Dingeldine Music Center, 1417 West Barker, Peoria.
Singers are asked to have two short Broadway-style songs prepared, one upbeat number and one lyrical; one Gershwin song is preferred. A piano accompanist will be provided. Actors are asked to have a two-minute scene (partnered scenes accepted) prepared; Vaudeville-style comedy or similar scenes preferred.
Those who wish to audition are asked to call the Peoria Symphony Orchestra at 671-1096 to indicate which hour of the auditions they wish to attend. Those cast must be available for rehearsals from early to late September.
The Peoria Symphony Orchestra’s 2011/2012 season includes a six-concert Classics Series plus a new PSO Presents Series, which includes concerts featuring Big Band music, a Gershwin tribute, and music from Broadway legends. The whole season can be viewed at www.peoriasymphony.org.
