ANNUAL DRAMA FESTIVAL – Community Children’s Theatre of the Peoria Park District will present seven award winning children’s plays performed by the students in the Theatre Education for Children Classes at Corn Stock Theatre Tent in Bradley Park on Saturday, May 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is FREE. PEORIA PARK DISTRICT PARK PLAYERS AUDITIONS – The Peoria Park District will hold auditions for their summer performance troupe the Park Players on Friday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m. or Sunday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Owens Center, Room B. As a paid member, five young actors will gain professional experience. High school students age 14 and up should also be prepared to give three references, excluding family members. PEORIA PARK DISTRICT AUDITIONS – Community Children’s Theatre of the Peoria Park District will hold auditions for their summer musical, Disney’s “ALADDIN JR.”, on Friday, May 7 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 8 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas School’s new gym, for ages 8- 18. Those auditioning should prepare a song to sing and bring sheet music for the accompanist and wear comfortable clothing for dance. Performance dates are July 8-11. For more info call 681-2861.

Clyde West Fishing Derby – The Glen Oak Amphitheatre/Lagoon’s Clyde West Fishing Derby is Saturday, May 15. This is a FREE event for children, seniors, and those with disabilities:

Ages 9 & under 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Ages 10-13 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Seniors/those with disabilities 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Toss in a line and see if you can reel in one of our specially tagged fish to win a prize! Borrow a pole through the “Loan a Pole” program, sponsored by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Bait, concessions, and basic fishing supplies will be available for purchase.
