Book Fair Coming to Proctor – The Proctor Hospital Service Auxiliary will host a Book Fair Thursday, September 8 from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and Friday, September 9, from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the Lobby of Proctor Hospital. There will be a large selection of quality new books and unique gifts at great savings. There will also be a selection of music CD’s classical, oldies, blues, and country fans. The public is invited.

Counseling Center Presents Free Workshop Women and Depression: What It Is and Why It Is Different – Approximately 17-25% of women in the United States will be affected by depression at some point in their lives. On September 14, explore “Women and Depression: What It Is and Why It Is Different.” This free workshop will explore how women’s issues are unique, and how to understand and learn self-help treatments. The workshop will be held from 6:30–8:00 p.m. in Classroom 2 of the Proctor Professional Building and feature presenter Pamela Shuck- Hoehne, MA, NCC, LCPC, RDDP. September Brown Bag Program Helps Us Live Beyond Grief – The Counseling Center at Proctor Hospital is sponsoring a Brown Bag Lunch & Learn Wellness Series program for Older Adults on September 22, 2011, from 11:30a.m.-1:00 p.m., Classroom 1, Proctor Professional Building with Presenter: Pamela Shuck- Hoehne, MA, NCC, LCPC, RDDP. This program will give you info on the grief process, strategies for coping, and what support is available to help you learn how to work through the grief and start living again.

This free session will be held in the Classroom I of the Proctor Professional Building. Seating is limited and registration is required. Bring your own lunch & beverage. Call             (309) 689-6001       to register.

September Seniors on the Go – It’s Free Topics: Elder Law Update and Vision Care – The Hult Health Education Center and Proctor Hospital will present Seniors on the Go on Thursday, September 22 at the Hult Center for Health Education. This program is free to seniors. Topics will include 10:30 a.m. “Elder Law Update” with Timothy Kirk, Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen PC. And at 12:30 p.m. “Vision Care” with Tim Cundiff, OD, Vision Care Center. Lunch provided 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
