June 2 – Elmwood’s annual Strawberry Festival & Pancake Breakfast 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Central Park, Elmwood. The breakfast is 6:00 – 10:00 a.m. Variety of strawberry delicacies, music, entertainment, food vendors, bingo, 3 on 3 basketball, craft show & car show.
June 2 – 3 – WW2 REENACTMENT - Normandy 1944 D-Day from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at W.H. Sommer Park, 6329 N. Koerner Rd. Peoria. Call (309) 635-2147. Re-live the desperate days of the Normandy campaign! Battles at 11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Battles at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
June 2 – 3 – The Great Work Begins, a new Peoria-area theatre troupe, will present their debut production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Camp Wokanda in Chillicothe.FREE. Two performances on Saturday: at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM; one show on Sunday at 2:30 PM.

June 9 — 2012 River City Bags Classic – @ Kelleher’s Pub, 619 SW Water Street, Peoria. The largest bags tournament the Peoria area has seen! The cost is $50.00 per two person team and there are plenty of prizes to win and fun.

Proceeds support the Rehabilitations Foundation of IPMR. Silent action & raffle along with Peoria Chiefs Baseball and a fireworks show.
June 9 – Annual Moss Avenue Antique Sale from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. HUGE antique sale sponsored by the Moss-Bradley Residential Association. Along with fabulous antique and vintage finds and food vendors, this year the event will also feature fine arts and live music!
June 14 – Peoria Genealogical Society meets @ 6:30 p.m. @ Peoria Public Library’s North Branch. Husband/wife team Lee & Jackie Sauder will portray Robert Avery & Lucy Pettengill. They’re members of Peoria Prairie Tellers Guild & the Peoria Historical Society’s Step-Back Characters program.
June 14 – The Peoria Garden Club’s “Garden Glories” Garden Walk will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Five gardens plus a tour of Luthy Botanical Garden. Tickets available at Hoerr Nursery, Kelly Seed, Green View Nursery, Sheridan Nursery. Tickets $15 in advance/$20 day of tour/$10 children under 12.
June 14 – Sculpture Ride starts at Bradley University’s Quad at 6:00 p.m. Highlights: public sculptures around Peoria – including Sonar Tide, Peace & Harvest, Mother Theresa, Ingersoll, and various Riverfront Park sculptures by Preston Jackson.
June 15 – Moonlight Cruise at Peoria Riverfront from 7:30 – 10:00 p.m. Admission: adults: $16/Seniors:$14/Kids: $10. Call (309) 637-8000. Enjoy Peoria’s evening skyline by the light of the moon. Live entertainment is included with your ticket for this 2 hour cruise. Cash bar is available.
June 16 – 39th annual Steamboat Classic Race – 7:00 a.m. at Hamilton Street (Near Adams Street) Admission: TBA. Regarded as the “World’s Fastest Four Miles,” “Illinois Toughest 15K” & “Peoria’s Easiest 4K.” these running events are open & cater to runners and walkers of all ability levels.
June 16 – Antique Tractor Show and Pull @ 11:00 a.m. at Canton Festival Grounds. Call (309) 647-2677. Admission is FREE. Grab a pork chop sandwich & get comfortable for this day-long event.
June 14 – 17 – 41st annual Steamboat Festival – This event combines a carnival, food fair, music, and entertainment in a family-friendly atmosphere.This internationally-known event attracts top athletes from around the world. Admission TBA.

June 20 - Emergency Expo – 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie. Over 20 local emergency response agencies display their equipment in the parking lot along Memorial Drive for the public to experience and explore. Free of charge.
June 22 – 23 – 8th annual Duryea Days will be held at the Tower Park in Peoria Heights. Food, drink, music, a classic car show, Little Miss Duryea, & a Local Author Book Fair.
June 22 – 24 – Universal Rhythm Assembly @ CEFCU Center Stage. Admission: $10. This year’s festival will be the sixth annual and will feature two nights of outstanding live performances! The Universal Rhythm Assembly will be supporting local food & beverage vendors whenever possible.
