“Proper Property Value” first of three fall Adult Community Programs offered by Peoria County

Property taxes too high? Join Peoria County’s Supervisor of Assessments for “Proper Property Value,” a free workshop from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, at ICC’s North Campus. This class is offered throughIllinois Central College’s Adult Community Programs.

Peoria County’s Supervisor of Assessments will explain how property is assessed and how property taxes are determined based on the assessed value. Participants will learn how levies imposed by taxing districts affect the total amount owed, how tax dollars are disbursed, and when to appeal a property assessment. It pays to take this free class.

“Proper Property Value” is the first of three fall Adult Community Programs offered by Peoria County. On October 4, Peoria County’s Animal Protection Services will present “Protecting Our Animals” and provide a tour of the animal shelter. On November 1, the Metro Peoria Committee will present “Elaborating on Collaborating.”
