Federal Companies of East Peoria received the 2012 Children’s Charity Award from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria at their annual event on November 10. The award was presented by Caterpillar Foundation Vice President Michelle Sullivan.
Federal Companies was recognized for raising over $80,000 for the Boys and Girls Club through its involvement in the Snag and Brag Fishing Tournament, a Heart of Illinois United Way program. Highlights of the September event included fishing clinics for local elementary and middle school youth, a silent auction, and a fishing tournament. The event was held at Prairie Lakes Farm in Farmington, Illinois.
Accepting the award for Federal Companies were co-owners Jeff Bogdan, Bill Cirone, and Randall Schrock. “On behalf of all the companies and individuals that sponsored the event, we thank you for allowing kids the opportunity to enjoy an outing like this – the thrill of catching a fish is an experience they will never forget,” stated Bill Cirone, President of Federal Companies and owner of Prairie Lakes Farm. “We would also like to thank the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria and the Caterpillar Foundation for this great honor. It is truly a privilege to be of service to our community.”
