Unique Conference to Explore How Authentic Women Lead

A distinctive conference exploring how authentic women lead will teach busy professionals how to be more engaging, motivating, and inspiring leaders in the community. The conference, to be held Thursday, May 9th at the Par-a-dice Hotel & Casino in East Peoria, will offer women the option of attending a Corporate Track or an Entrepreneur Track for the breakout sessions.

Sponsored by the non-profit Women in Leadership of Central Illinois, the half day conference will focus on the professional women’s need for authentic and effective leadership skills.

When a woman is operating at her most authentic self, she simultaneously feels and is viewed as being a more effective leader. She is a catalyst for meaningful and positive change; a high-performing, confident individual; and a critical player in the organization’s overall success, whether that organization is a corporation, a self made business, a home, a school or a charity.

“Women are busy, this conference is designed to touch on multiple professional development areas at one time” says Ami Dean, VP of the Women in Leadership Annual Conference. Most important, according to Dean, is the fact that all the breakout experts speakers are from right here in Peoria. “Peoria has so many incredible women professionals that lead on a daily basis that we truly wanted to showcase our local talent, business owners and leaders. You don’t have to travel to a big city to be able to learn and develop. We have remarkable women doing that every day right here in Peoria,” she says.

Christine Corelli will keynote the conference entitled “How Authentic Women Lead.” Christine Corelli is a consultant and author of five business books, including the best selling “Wake Up and Smell the Competition.” Her enthusiasm, creativity and attention to detail has lead to over 200 features in leading publications and partnerships with hundreds of businesses across the globe. Women in Leadership of Central Illinois invites you to learn about “Authentic Leadership: Leading With Your Head, Hands and Your Heart” from Christine.

Some of the vital experts in the fields of leadership and motivation will be featured during breakout sessions including: Emilie Shoop- coach, consultant, and “go to” leadership and engagement girl; Robin Albright, CPCC- Creative Life/Business Coach/Speaker, and owner of Zinger Zanger, Inc., located here in Central Illinois; and the always inspirational Yvonne Greer- certified personal trainer, motivational coach and freelance tv and radio personality.

“The exciting thing about this conference is that it will for the second year bring together women who grapple daily with balancing all the hats and titles we wear and teach us how to transition the skills we learn back to the workplace, home and community,” says Dean. “The symposium will be an important milestone for professional women in the Peoria area as they work to successfully develop, network and mentor,” she said.

How Authentic Women Lead will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Par-a-dice Hotel & Casino, sponsored by the non-profit Women in Leadership of Central Illinois. Conference registration is $80 for non WIL members and $65 for WIL members.
