Bradley University’s Multicultural Student Services will present its annual “Tunnel of Oppression” on November 8 through 11 in the Michel Student Center ballroom, located at 915 N. Elmwood in Peoria.
“Tunnel of Oppression” is an interactive diversity program designed to increase student awareness of various types of prejudices and their impact on society. Participants are guided through a 30-minute interactive and engaging experience, which includes a variety of role-play scenarios, video clips, and activities designed to expose participants to racism, homophobia, sexism, heterosexism, ableism, domestic violence, and other forms of oppression. At the end of the program students have an opportunity to debrief and process the experience.
The exhibit is free and open to the public, but a scheduled tour time is required. Tours will begin every 15 minutes from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. on November 8 and from 1:00 – 10:00 p.m. on November 9, 10, and 11.
