Another Illinois GIRL, Makes it BIG…Cowgirl that is

Danika might drive fast cars, but another award winning Illinois (cow) girl, takes thrill rides to a new level. With no helmet or protective gear, performing at break neck speeds on the back of two fast running horses, Dusti Crain, barefoot trick riding specialist, raised in St. Peter, IL took her love of horseback riding and cheerleading, put them together and came up with one of the most exciting feats you will ever witness. Skill, beauty, and nerves of steel are the tricks of her trade as she lays it all on the line on her stage, the back of two equally beautiful paint horses, Royalty and Big Fella as an award winning trick rider, now a featured performer at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede

Raised in a rodeo family, Dusti began her rodeo career at the age of 5 when she began barrel racing and carrying the America flag at her father’s rodeos. When Dusti was just 8 years old the family took a vacation that would dramatically change the course of her life. The family went to Branson, Missouri where they attended the Dixie Stampede, Wild West dinner theatre. This was the first time Dusti saw roman and trick riding and was fascinated with this demanding sport. She turned to her father Ronnie and said “I will do that someday.” Upon returning home to Illinois Dusti began trying to imitate the stunts she had seen at Dixie Stampede and began saving every penny earned to buy a trick saddle. Hard work and dedication proved to be the key to opening the doors to her trick riding career!! Roman riding with Chief and another horse, Arial soon followed and Dusti was seen in county fairs, rodeos, and many other performances all over Illinois. As Dusti improved, word spread and work from all over soon began to come in and she began performing every weekend on the east coast and throughout the northern states. In 2005 Dusti competed in and won the International Professional Rodeo Contract Act Showcase with her roman riding act and the longtime dream of working at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede became a reality with this national recognition. The following year Dusti was hired on as the lead roman rider aboard Chief and Arial to perform at the Stampede. Dusti now performs trick and roman riding in over 700 shows a year and continues to travel to rodeos when she can. Her performances are always high speed, thrilling family entertainment with unique costumes, exciting music and beautiful horses.
