The Local History and Genealogy Department of Peoria Public Library that has been operating from space in the WTVP building on State Street will close on Friday, January 7 and tentatively reopen on Monday, January 31 in new space on Lower Level One of the Main Library at 107 N.E. Monroe.

This special department offers materials unique to Peoria history as well as genealogy materials and will be housed in a newly constructed space on a floor not open to the public previously. It will be surrounded by a new gallery space.

While Local History and Genealogy is slated to open January 31, this date is tentative as poor weather could delay the moving of materials from one location to another.
