Free Six Week Empowerment Workshops Provided on Disability Related Issues

“Progress to Success,” six free consecutive weekly workshops, will empower attendees and provide the 411 on disability related issues. The trainings are sponsored by the Central Illinois Transition Planning Committee, Advocates for Access, and the Heart of Illinois Down Syndrome Association, Inc. in collaboration with Illinois Central College.

The series will be held on six consecutive Tuesday evenings from February 1 through March 8, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Illinois Central College in Room 212C. The workshops are designed for self-advocates, parents, school personnel, and service providers. Attendees may pick and choose which topics are of interest to them and attend only those sessions. The six interactive workshops will provide opportunities to learn from experts and ask questions. Registration is not required but is appreciated for planning purposes.
