Little Scientists to Experience CSI: Concordia

Concordia Lutheran School is taking a creative, hands-on approach to student recruitment this year. On February 3 at 9:15 a.m., the school will welcome area preschoolers to the first Concordia Science Institute (CSI).

CSI is a new program designed to demonstrate the interactive science lab that Concordia recruits can experience as students. Preschoolers and their parents will make snow, be amazed by super strong magnets, create and step into life-size bubbles, and play with magnetic wands. They will also make a stop in the computer lab to explore online.

“CSI demonstrates one more way we are helping children and their parents understand the academic excellence our school offers,” says Dr Scott Russell, Concordia Executive Director. “The event also showcases the strength of Concordia’s science program, one of the building blocks of a solid education for every student.”

Last year 80 percent of the Concordia science fair projects that went to regionals were promoted to state competition at the University of Illinois. CSI reservations are necessary. Contact Concordia for more information at 691-8921 or www.concordiapeoria.com. Concordia Lutheran School is a nationally accredited school with more than 200 students currently enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade. Registrations are being accepted now for fall 2011 enrollment.
