As recommended by FEMA, Central Illinois Agency on Aging (CIAA) is reminding people to be sure to check on your neighbors, especially the elderly and young children – those who can be most vulnerable during emergencies. Due to the weather local nutrition programs are closed. That means that staff and volunteers that deliver the meals and at the same time check on the welfare of area seniors are unable to do so at this time. CIAA is also asking for volunteers to help shovel snow for vulnerable seniors who are trapped in their homes. Please contact Central Illinois Agency on Aging at 674-2071 if you can help.
