Heart of Illinois Safe From the Start, managed by The Center for Prevention of Abuse, is Celebrating 10 Years of Service to Children who have been Exposed to Violence

Current estimates indicate that as many as 10 million children have witnessed or been victims of violence in their homes and communities. The effects of this violence is felt most strongly by our youngest children and studies show that children ages 0-5 who have been exposed to violence are one thousand times more likely to live in violence as adults. Heart of Illinois Safe From The Start is comprised of more than thirty agencies in our county dedicated to working together to help these families.
