As the Boy Scouts of America enters its second century, the W. D. Boyce Council will honor Henry and Alice Cakora at the 2011 Pekin Area Lawn Social. The event, hosted at the home of Rich and Nancy Kriegsman, will take place on Friday, August 26, 2011,
from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m.
The W. D. Boyce Council will honor Henry and Alice Cakora for their years of service and giving back to the Pekin area community. Henry and Alice have been an integral part of their community for many years, exemplifying the core values the Boy Scouts of America instills in each of the young people registered in its programs. For this reason, they have been selected to receive the Good Scout Award. Henry ran Tazewell Machine Works and both have been involved in the Pekin Salvation Army. In addition, the Cakoras have been involved with Pekin Main Street and TAPS.
The event will benefit Scouting in and around the Pekin area. Through the support of Tazewell Machine Works as the Eagle Sponsor, all dollars raised will support: camperships, training, program supplies, insurance, camping facilities, local unit support, communication, day camp and summer camp.
