Interactive event unites children and the elderly
Apostolic Christian Skylines and Myah’s Just 4 Kids Learning Center are proud to co-host an interactive event, Bridging the Gap: In Their Shoes, on November 11, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event will take place at Myah’s Just 4 Kids Learning Center’s new facility, located at 114 West Forrest Hill Avenue, Peoria, IL 61604.
This interactive event is designed for children to learn about the physical aging process through a unique simulation activity. Putting themselves in the shoes of the elderly, children will experience firsthand what it means to age with a variety of education tools, all provided by Advocates for Access. These tools will allow the children to experience how their vision, hearing, and mobility will change as they grow older.
While the goal is to bridge the gap between the senior citizens and children, this event will also provide parents with the tools to continue the conversation with their children about aging. Education is important to facilitate outside the classroom.
This event is part of a public relations campaign created by Fine Design PR, a group comprised of four senior public relations students at Bradley University. The goal of the campaign is to educate children on the physical and mental processes of aging, and ultimately, bridge the gap between children and the elderly.
