The Peoria area’s roller derby league, the Peoria Push Derby Dames, will host their season opener on January 7 at the Peoria Civic Center in the Exhibition Hall. Proceeds will benefit Peoria Rescue Ministries, in keeping with the Push tradition of bouting to benefit local charities. A “newbie” bout will precede the main event, with the Hard Knocks going up against the Polka Bots.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or on peoriarollerderby.org. Children age 6 and younger are free. The bout will be family friendly.
