Positioning themselves for a decisive victory in 2012, the Illinois Senate Democratic Victory Fund announced today they have out raised the Senate Republicans by more than a 2 to 1 ratio. Illinois Senate Republicans filed with $1,202,186 cash-on-hand while Senate Democrats filed with $2,524,806 cash-on-hand; over twice as much according to the latest filed campaign disclosure reports.
More troublesome for Illinois Republicans this year is that Illinois Democrats consistently have had more than twice the cash-on-hand than Illinois Republicans in the first filing cycle. In 2009, Republicans had $1,226,739 in the bank during the first reporting cycle while Democrats reported $2,600,253 during the same period.
“We are pleased to show such strong fundraising numbers and feel our message of creating jobs and getting Illinois back on track is resonating with voters”, said Senate Democrats Finance Director Liz Nicholson. “The Senate Republicans have continuously demonstrated an inability to garner the same kind of support from the people of Illinois.”
Financial figures are derived by comparing the Republican State Senate Campaign Committee and Citizens for Radogno to the Senate Democratic Victory Fund and Citizens for Cullerton.
