The Salvation Army Corps Community Center Holds First Annual Red Kettle Run

Two Mile Run & Walk to Help Usher In Red Kettle Season

PEORIA — The Salvation Army Corps Community is holding its first annual “Red Kettle Run” Saturday, October 27. The first-time event will be a two mile run, but will grow into a 5K in subsequent years. “We wanted to do a 5K, but due to a variety of factors, we decided to start it this year as a two-mile run,” said Major Donna Miller, Corps Officer.

The run will start and end at the Corps Community Center at 2903 W. Nebraska in Peoria and will wind its way through the area neighborhoods. Online registration is available now at www.signmeup.com/86716.

Cost is $25, which will help support Salvation Army local outreach programs. Cost is $25 and there will be awards for the top three finishers in each age group. Sign-in is at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 8:00 a.m. For more information, contact Major Donna Miller, or Nicki Yocum at 682-8886.
