Santa Claus heading to Shoppes at Grand Prairie
Peoria, Ill. — The Shoppes at Grand Prairie welcomes Santa and Mrs. Claus at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. “Santa’s Grand Holiday Village,” the 21,000-square foot winter wonderland full of hand-crafted goodies, seasonal décor and a children’s Stocking Stuffer Store, will be easy to find at the south end of the Shoppes.
Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at 4:30 p.m. in a horse-drawn carriage to start the festivities. Kids will be invited to help Santa light-up the outside of the Shoppes and the large holiday tree in the center courtyard at sunset. There will be a DJ and a light show.
Other activities include free carriage rides and the return of Shoppe-A-Long, the giant rocking horse. Tickets to ride Shoppe-A-Long will be sold from noon to 9:00 p.m. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit local charity organizations.
“Santa’s Grand Holiday Village” will be open Saturday, Nov. 17 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 23 from noon to 5:00 p.m. During Nov. 24 through Dec. 23, hours are Fridays from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5:00 p.m.
The Shoppes at Grand Prairie is an open-air lifestyle center located in northwest Peoria, with easy access from Route 6 and I-74. Anchored by Bergner’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, DSW, Jillian’s, and Old Navy, the tenant mix includes more than 50 specialty stores and restaurants, many of which are exclusive to the Peoria market.
