Culver’s Night, Christmas Assistance Sign-Ups, Bell-Ringing All on Tap

Busy Days Approach for The Salvation Army

Tomorrow evening, November 14, The Salvation Army will hold its first of two Culvers Nights, with a 4-8 pm event at the N. University Culvers Restaurant in Peoria. Salvation Army staff, volunteers and officers will be on hand delivering food and busing tables from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Ten percent of the proceeds during this time will be donated to the Tree of Lights Campaign.

Additionally, The Salvation Army Brass will be on hand to play Christmas music for a portion of the evening. Honorary Co-Chairs Lynn & Penny Kunkle, along with Advisory Board members and Women’s Auxiliary members will be on hand to help serve. “This is one of the more fun events, with the brass playing, and we look forward to a nice evening,” said Lynn Kunkle, Honorary Chair. “Culver’s has been a great community partner, and we appreciate their continued support,” said Rich Draeger, Assistant Development Director for The Salvation Army. “Bring the family by, enjoy a Culvers meal or dessert and help out the Tree of Lights Campaign!”

Meanwhile, sign-ups continue for various Christmas assistance programs, including the Toy Shop, Share the Spirit Party, food baskets and Coats for Kids at the Sylvia Fites Center. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., and Thursdays from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m.

And finally- volunteer bell-ringers are needed! To see what stores and shifts are available, please visit www.ringbells.org and select Peoria to get signed up! For more information on these upcoming events, please contact Rich Draeger at 655-1348 or 253-9909.
