The Peoria Park District will offer its Youth Lacrosse Program for the third year, starting with a free clinic and a youth league for ages 7-15. Lacrosse is a fast-paced and exciting game that is surprisingly easy to learn. A Central Illinois Lacrosse League has formed and the Peoria Park District’s team, Peoria Lightning, will take part.
A Lacrosse Introduction Clinic will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the RiverPlex Recreation and Wellness Center. It’s a great way to introduce kids to the sport of lacrosse before the season begins. The clinic is free of charge.
The Youth Lacrosse League will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Franciscan Rec Complex starting on Feb. 26 and will move to Mondays and Wednesdays on March 11 at Peoria Stadium. Games will be in the Central Illinois area with optional travel to larger venues.
The fee is $125. An optional rental fee is $60 with a $140 deposit. Sign up at Glen Oak Pavilion or online at www.peoriaparks.org.
