Peoria – On Sunday, April 28, the Local 974 United Auto Workers Retirees will be hosting a fish fry to benefit Bel-Wood Nursing Home. Fish, potato salad, and baked beans will be served from noon – 3:00 p.m. at the UAW Hall, 3025 Springfield Road in East Peoria. Cost for all-you-can-eat is $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Soda is $1.00 and there will be deserts for sale. The event is open to the public and funds raised will be used throughout the year to sponsor UAW activities at Bel-Wood, including the distribution of gift bags to all nursing home residents at Christmas.
