Peoria, Illinois (May 6, 2013)–UnityPoint Health-Methodist Medical Center Foundation held its twenty-first annual President’s Society Dinner on Friday, May 3, 2012 at the County Club of Peoria. The event honors significant donors to the Foundation during the previous calendar year.

The President’s Award was presented to John Sahn by CEO Debbie Simon. Sahn has more than fifteen years of service to the UnityPoint Health-Methodist organization, having served on the Foundation Board, the corporate board, and many different committees. Ms. Simon thanked Sahn for being “a very involved and informed board member.”

Dr. Amy Christison was honored with the Dr. Ward Eastman award for professional excellence. Ward Eastman Jr. traveled from Dallas Texas to Peoria to present the award to Dr. Christison as a representative of the Eastman family. Dr. Christison is a pediatric hospitalist for UnityPoint Health- Methodist and assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Peoria. She is co-director of the Healthy Kids U clinic at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois and is actively involved with the Central Illinois Wellness program with a focus on obesity in children. She is an extensive writer and researcher on this topic.

More than a hundred President’s Society members attended the event.
