Peoria, July 15, 2013 – Child Care Association of Illinois elected its 2013-‘14 Board of Directors this month, and Children’s Home Association of Illinois CEO Clete Winkelmann has been selected as Chairman of the Board of Directors. The organization consists of more than 50 member agencies and builds public support for addressing the needs of children and families in Illinois. Local members include Children’s Home Association of Illinois, FamilyCore and Center for Youth & Family Solutions.
The goals of Child Care Association of Illinois are to:
Build an effective, and efficient service system that operates in the best interest of the children and families.
Advocate for sufficient financial resources to support these services in both the public and voluntary sectors.
Ensure that enough qualified trained personnel are available for the delivery of needed services.
Ensure that the beliefs, interests, and experience of voluntary sector agencies are heard and incorporated into planning and programming for the full range of children’s services.
Educate and elicit the support of the public and state leadership about existing and emerging needs of children and families in Illinois.
The association utilizes information brokering, advocacy, legislation and policies in addition to the participation of its member agencies to reach these goals. The association can be found online at www.cca-il.org.
