The League of Women Voters of Greater Peoria will celebrate 100 years of women voting in Illinois by participating in National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013.

The event will take place at Illinois Central College’s main campus (in East Peoria) on Tuesday, September 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. near the cafeteria.

Anyone needing to register must be a United States citizen, live in the State of Illinois, and bring two forms of identification – one having a photo and at least one having a correct address.

“This is an opportunity for ICC students and staff to register to vote, or reaffirm their registration if they have moved recently. Register to vote and make your voice heard. Active citizens do make a difference,” said Cheryl Budzinski, president of the League.
