League of Women Voters of Greater Peoria continues to offer petitions for redistricting on Saturdays in March 2014

Are you ready to help make Illinois government more transparent and accountable? Then sign the petition to stop gerrymandering, to put the voters back in charge.
Petitions will be available at:

• Apples Bakery, every Saturday in March from 10:00 a.m. – noon for voters to sign, pickup and return petitions, and have petitions notarized. Bakery is located at 8412 N. Knoxville, Peoria, IL.

• Lindy’s Market, 110 Peoria, Washington, IL, on Saturday March 8 from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Volunteers from the League of Women Voters Greater Peoria will be available to collect signatures, answer questions, and distribute petitions.

The petitions are for Yes for Independent Maps, a nonpartisan grassroots campaign to put an Illinois constitutional amendment on the November 2014 ballot that will take redistricting out of the hands of politicians and return power to the people of Illinois.
The League supports Yes for Independent Maps and states that the amendment is an important reform essential to bringing transparency, non-partisanship and independence to the redistricting process and ending incumbent protection and voter disenfranchisement.
