The Community Foundation of Central Illinois held 26th Annual Meeting, May 6 at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria

Peoria, IL- The Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI) held its 26th Annual Meeting, A Report to the Community, May 6 at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria from 5:00-7:00 pm.

In attendance were community leaders, fund holders and grantees. Attendees were treated to refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres, along with a program that highlighted the efforts of CFCI in past year. Also included was a presentation and performance by City Dance, NFP, a 2013 CFCI Community Arts $10,000 grant recipient.

 In the most recent fiscal year, CFCI distributed nearly $5.2 million in grants, including $1.3 million from the Foundation and $3.9 million from the Depository. Mark Roberts, CEO shared that the Community Foundation of Central Illinois and the CFCI Depository together currently includes 530 funds, totaling $30 million in assets, marking the highest total assets in the Foundation’s history.

Recognitions were made to all CFCI Board of Directors for their service. Outgoing Past Chairman of the Board, Christopher E. Glynn, retired Director of Corporate Human Relations at Caterpillar Inc. and Board Member Ray Busam, retired from LR Nelson, were acknowledged for their outstanding service since joining the board in 2006. We are very thankful to Chris and Ray for their excellent volunteer service. They each contributed greatly to the growth of CFCI,” said Roberts.

 Additionally, CFCI welcomed three new members to the CFCI Board of Directors: Don Shafer, Executive Vice President with Heartland Bank and Trust Company; John Disharoon, Director – Market Access Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing, Components and Work Tools Division and Pablo Koziner, Vice President of Caterpillar’s Americas Distribution Services Division.

Lastly, to honor his significant support to the beginning of the Community Foundation of Central Illinois, Ed Siebert, retired Vice President of Caterpillar, Inc. was awarded the 2014 CFCI Founder’s Award. The Founder’s Award comes with a $500 grant to be given to the recipient’s charitable organization of choice.
