Peoria Riverfront Museum will celebrate Peoria native Richard Pryor and the May 3 unveiling of artist Preston Jackson’s bronze sculpture, “Richard Pryor – More than just a Comedian,”  by showing four of Pryor’s most critically acclaimed films on the Giant Screen.

April 30 and May 1, the Remembering Richard: Pryor on the Giant Screen film fest schedule will feature one movie and one stand-up routine each night at the museum’s giant screen theater.  April 30th films include “Lady Sings the Blues” at 6 p.m. and “Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip” at 9 p.m. May 1st screenings include “Stir Crazy” at 6 p.m. and “Richard Pryor … Here and Now” at 9 p.m.

Tickets per film are $7 for adults and $6 for seniors or students (with ID). All films are rated R. Tickets may be purchased at the Riverfront Museum, by calling 309-686-7000, or online at RiverfrontMuseum.org.

NOTE: May 3, 12 to 5 p.m., Riverfront Museum will offer FREE access for all visitors to The Street Gallery with the African American Wall of Fame, Peoria Personalities kiosk featuring Richard Pryor, and the Story Studio – where visitors are encouraged to record their own oral histories and memories of Richard Pryor.
