Cheri Bustos, candidate for the U.S. House of Representative in Illinois’ 17th district, will be the guest speaker at the Saturday, August 4, meeting of the Peoria Chapter, National Organization for Women. The meeting will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Peoria Downtown Library’s second floor meeting room. It is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Bustos, the first woman to run for this seat, has worked as a journalist and health care executive, and has served on the East Moline City Council. She is president of the board of Women’s Connection, an Illinois networking organization. She has been endorsed by the National NOW Political Action Committee and by Emily’s List.
