Farm Bureau Members Can Order Fresh Florida Citrus thru Nov. 26th

Peoria, Illinois – November 15, 2012 – Farm Bureau members can order fresh Florida citrus and Terry Lynn nuts thru Monday, November 26. The oranges, grapefruit, and tangelos are a product of the Florida Farm Bureau member growers and marketed through the Florida Farm Bureau. In 2011, 320 members ordered 570 forty-pound cases of citrus and over 1700 one-pound bags of nuts.

Oranges, grapefruit and tangelos are available in 20 or 40 pound boxes. There are usually 30 – 40 grapefruit in a forty pound box, 50 – 60 oranges, and 80 -100 tangelos. A tangelo is a cross between a grapefruit and a tangerine. Tangelos peel easier than oranges but do contain some seeds.

Terri Lynn nut products are also available for members to purchase. These include Deluxe Mixed Nuts, Fancy Mammoth Pecan Halves, Giant Salted Whole Cashews, Chocolate Covered Pecans, Dark Chocolate Cranberries, Dark Chocolate Almonds, and Sweet and Salty Trail Mix. All Terri Lynn products are in one-pound packages. Order forms will be available at the Farm Bureau office or on the website at www.peoriacountyfarmbureau.org.

Citrus pick up will be in the Farm Bureau auditorium on Wednesday, December 12.
Members are also encouraged to bring any non-perishable food items on December 12.

Donations will be delivered to the Peoria Area Food Bank.
