CAPtions, Peoria’s longest-running TV talk show, will feature highlights of the NAACP-Peoria Branch’s 2009 Freedom Fund Banquet held Nov. 14 in East Peoria.
The 1-hour cablecast will feature comments by Pekin Mayor Rusty Dunn, Dirksen Research Center director Frank Mackaman, and a keynote speech by Philip R. Cousin, Bishop of the AME 4th Episcopal District.
During the banquet, the NAACP honored the late Senator Everett Dirksen for his efforts in helping to pass the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
CAPtions will air on Wednesday, November 18 at 7 pm on Comcast Cable 22 in Peoria County; and 9 pm on ESC-TV Cable 22 in East Peoria, Creve Coeur and Washington.
In cooperation with the City of Pekin, this CAPtions edition will also air on Pekin’s Government Access Cable 22 beginning Wednesday, Nov. 25, and broadcast every day until Dec. 16 at 11:15 a.m., 3:15 p.m., and 9:15 p.m.
