Museum promotes emergency response to young troops with scavenger hunt.
PEORIA, IL¬¬—Peoria Riverfront Museum is hosting a “Ready, Set, Rescue!” event on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. Over 200 Girl Scouts from central Illinois are scheduled to attend.
This event will begin with Girl Scouts watching Rescue, a 3D educational film currently playing in the Giant Screen Theater. Following the showing of Rescue, Girl Scouts will then participate in an “Emergency Preparedness Amazing Race” scavenger hunt around the museum exhibits. This race gives Girl Scouts the opportunity to meet local emergency response workers and volunteers from the Peoria area.
Local emergency response volunteers will be placed in exhibits throughout the museum including volunteers from the Peoria Fire Department, Red Cross and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
