Nationally-trained child passenger safety technicians will check and install car seats
EUREKA, IL — Ninety percent of central Illinois car seats are improperly installed which puts children at risk if they are involved in a crash. The American Red Cross, Safe Kids, the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, the Illinois Department of Transportation and Mangold Ford Mercury of Eureka are teaming up to hold a free, quarterly car seat check for area residents.
“Car seat installation can be very stressful,” said Lisa Maynard, Red Cross car seat technician. “At a free car seat check, parents will learn some tricks from nationally trained technicians and leave knowing that their child’s car seat is properly installed.”
DATE: Tuesday, February 19
TIME: 1:00pm to 3:00pm
LOCATION: Ford Mangold Mecury in Eureka (1100 W Center Street, Eureka)
