Peoria – Peoria County’s internal Green CREW and LiveWell wellness program employees are hosting a Farmer’s Market in the Courthouse Plaza from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20. Fresh produce will be available from local farmers. Farmer’s Market vendors include The Green Grocer, Hammer Farm, Smith Farm, and Spring Bay Farms. The community is encouraged to support local farmers and enjoy fresh produce at the Farmer’s Market. Buying locally builds a healthier lifestyle.

The Farmer’s Market is an employee-driven initiative developed by the Green CREW and LiveWell. Green CREW (Conserving Resources, Educating Workers) is an employee group formed as a result of Peoria County’s Sustainability Plan. The Green CREW considers and implements ways that County employees can conserve resources and support sustainability initiatives. LiveWell is a Peoria County employee wellness program that encourages a healthier lifestyle for participants.
