Peoria Public Library Local History Wants Your Story

The staff of  Peoria Public Library Local History and Genealogy are encouraging Peorians to write a page or two about a favorite memory of Peoria and turn it in by June 24 for display during July and addition to the permanent collection.

The project is called “Peoria Local History is Your History” and be any memory of life in Peoria. Writing ideas include what neighborhoods were like, if your family had special holiday traditions or memories of a favorite restaurant. All that is required is a submission no longer than three pages and that stories be turned in at the Main Library Local History and Genealogy Room or emailed toprogrammingdept@ppl.peoria.lib.il.us.

All ages are invited to participate. Some entries will be on display in the Wheeler Case on LL2 at the Main Library during the month of July.  All submissions will be included in a binder and kept as part of the permanent collection in the Peoria Public Library Local History and Genealogy Room.

Those with questions may call (309)497.2155.
