RHAPSODY IN BLOOM ARTS FESTIVAL — JUNE 28-29 AT LUTHY BOTANICAL GARDEN

The Peoria Park District’s Luthy Botanical Garden will present its annual Rhapsody in Bloom Arts Festival on Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, June 29, noon to 5 p.m. This event—a celebration of art, music, food and bloom—is sponsored by Peoria Public Radio and the Times News Group.

Come see the inspired works of a diverse selection of local artists; listen to the beat of talented musicians and performers; and taste culinary creations from some of Peoria’s best eateries – all in a fragrant garden setting! Highlights of the event include:

ART

Art Show

Rhapsody in Bloom includes a juried art competition and art booths throughout the Garden, displaying a variety of art media . Judging will take place on Sunday morning, with prizes presented at that time.

Silent Auction

Don’t miss the opportunity to bid on unique, one-of-a-kind art, generously donated to help our garden grow. Try to win your favorite art treasure for yourself or a special gift. Bids for Silent Auction items start at half their value.

CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES

Kids can paint a flower pot in the Children’s Garden, choose a flower to plant in it, and take it home.

 

MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT

Peoria Public Radio (WCBU 89.9 fm) will have a booth at Rhapsody in Bloom on both days. Musical groups and performers will include the following:

Saturday, June 28 Music Schedule

10:30 am-12:30 pm – Melinda Brown – singer/instrumental
1:00-3:00 pm –  Derrick O’Neal – singer

3-5 pm – TBA
Sunday, June 29 Music Schedule
12 noon-1:00 pm – Brian Taylor – country singer
1:00-3:00  pm – Mitch Goudy – country singer (headliner)

12-1 pm – Jordan Mock – singer/instrumental

FOOD
Participating food vendors will include Haddad’s Restaurant (Lebanese cuisine plus chicken, pork chops, brats, hot dogs).

 

BLOOM, ETC.

Luthy Botanical Garden, 2520 N. Prospect (corner of Prospect & Gift in Peoria) is a beautiful setting for this unique arts festival, which includes some outstanding floral/herbal exhibits. Be sure to see Luthy’s redesigned Rose Garden too!
