Medical Conference Offered In Three Central Illinois Locations
Quality Quest for Health of Illinois and the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria are jointly sponsoring a conference on electronic health records entitled, “Central Illinois EHR/HIE Summit: Modernizing Communication to Improve Patient Care” on three separate dates in mid-April from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The half-day conference will be held:
• April 20 – I Hotel and Conference Center, Champaign
• April 21 – Embassy Suites Riverfront Conference Center, East Peoria
• April 22 – Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, Normal
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), passed in February 2009, established substantial investments in health information technology. These investments are aimed at using technology to spur advances in healthcare quality, but many practitioners have questioned, “Is this too much, too fast?” The Central Illinois EHR/HIE Summit will focus on:
• how the coming changes can impact patient care;
• what physicians will need to do in order to access stimulus dollars; and
• where support is being provided throughout the transition to electronic health records and health information exchange.
Physicians, residents, medical students, nurses, allied health professionals, administrators, practice managers, and business/community leaders are encouraged to attend. There is no cost to attend the conference and a complimentary breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. Registration is required – either online at www.qualityquest.org or by phone at 1-800-977-9670. For more information, please call 309-202-1599.
The University of Illinois (UIC) College of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
