The Hopedale Medical Foundation kicked off its 2010 Capital Giving Campaign at the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard on March 2nd. A crowd of about 100 guests attended the program that was hosted by HMC CEO Dr. Alfred Rossi. HMC’s architect, Steve Hunsicker of SPACE in St. Louis, Missouri, went through a detailed discussion of the design of a proposed $20 million addition to Hopedale Hospital. Mr. Hunsicker conducted a computerized “virtual tour” for the audience, and he described what the new hospital will look like, room-by-room. It was truly an amazing experience, and the audience was very impressed with the efficient design, high ceilings, large patient rooms, and unique steel and glass structure. Capital Campaign Chairman, Mr. Don Oswald, then spoke briefly on the importance of charitable giving for this once-in-a-lifetime project. He stated that the Foundation’s goal is to raise $2 million to help pay for the $20 million modern expansion.
Dr. Rossi complimented Mr. Hunsicker and his team on the outstanding design of the new Hopedale Hospital, which will be unlike any other Critical Access Hospital in the United States. He further stressed the importance of building a modern “patient and nurse-friendly” facility to attract top-notch physicians, as well as other healthcare professionals who are crucial to the delivery of the exceptional medical care which the community has become accustomed to. The Foundation will soon begin sending out more information regarding donating to this historic project and is prepared to accept pledges of any size. The Campaign Committee is still seeking new members. Questions, information on donation naming opportunities, pledges, or joining the committee, should be directed to Monique Weaver at (309) 449-4012.
