YOUNG ARTISTS HONORED FOR CARD DESIGNS CEFCU-sponsored holiday cards available in early November

Ten area students have been honored by CEFCU and Children’s Hospital of Illinois for having their designs selected for the 2010 Brighten A Child’s Life holiday greeting card program. A reception and awards ceremony was held October 12th at CEFCU’s Airport office in Peoria.

This is the 26th year CEFCU has sponsored the contest to select designs for the cards.
Students throughout central Illinois submitted entries in various categories.

The CEFCU Brighten a Child’s Life greeting card sale generated more that $25,000 last year to
benefit Children’s Hospital.

The 2010 winners are:
• Shelby McLoda, 9, of Normal (Parkside Elementary School)
• Matt Yoder, 12, of Washington (Washington Middle School)
• Brooks Bankord, 17, of Bloomington (Normal Community High School)
• Megan Buttrum, 15, of Pekin (Tremont High School)
• Katie Koch, 17, of Tremont (Tremont High School)
• Celine Estes, 16, of Tremont (Tremont High School)

Runners-Up are:
• Morgan Ferrenburg of Normal (Grove Elementary School)
• Maggie Schaffer of Germantown Hills (Germantown Hills Grade School)
• Elayna Falcon of Tremont (Tremont High School)
• Erin McDonald of Tremont (Tremont High School)

The cards, which cost $10 for a package of 20 cards, will be sold at the following locations beginning in early November: All area CEFCU member centers; all area Kroger stores; Schnucks stores in Peoria, Pekin, Bloomington, and Normal; The Red Barn in Morton; Apple’s Bakery in Peoria; OSF Saint Francis Medical Center gift shop; and Children’s Hospital Foundation offices in Peoria and Bloomington.
