The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Peoria will be holding its second ALIPRO Snag & Brag Fishing Tournament on Sunday, June 5, 2011. Eight to ten teams consisting of four anglers each will begin fishing at 5:30 a.m. in various locations throughout Central Illinois. Teams are sponsored by local businesses and individuals supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs tutoring and mentoring programs.
After a day of fishing, teams will return to Kelleher’s Irish Pub and Eatery on Water Street for a final weigh-in at 4:00 pm. The weigh-in will be followed by a fish fry open to the public. Cost is $10 for adults and children 10 and younger are free. There will also be an auction through-out the day. All proceeds from this event benefit the Boys & Girls Club. Their mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Boys & Girls clubs serves children ages 6 – 18 years old. All dollars raised will also provide fishing field trips for Boys & Girls Club children.
Awards will be given for first and second place to the teams and/or individuals for heaviest Total Weight, Largest Bass and Most Amount of Pledge Money raised. Photo and video opportunities available from Kelleher are parking lot at 5:30 am (for Official Start) and 4:00 pm (for Weigh-In).
