Peoria County’s Director of Economic Development Rafeal Underwood has submitted his resignation in pursuit of another professional opportunity. In recent months, the County has gained ground in the economic development field by forging new partnerships and strengthening existing ones; we will continue to foster these relationships. The County Board is committed to economic development; therefore, we will initiate a search for a new Economic Development Director and continue the efforts we have begun in this regard.
County Board Chairman Thomas H. O’Neill is excited about the progress the County has made and our opportunities going forward, “One of our goals in the organization is to grow the county by expanding local business, bringing in new business, and increasing the population of our community. This is an exciting time of growth in our area and Peoria County intends to take advantage of the opportunities for development.”
