The Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce is offering an Energy Purchasing Cooperative to help Chamber members save money on their monthly utility bills and provide long term budget stability in a deregulated market. The program has offered commercial services since 2007 and this year residential service has been added. If you or your employer is a chamber member you are eligible.
Terry Best, Chamber VP of Programs and Membership Services, says “Through the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Energy Purchasing Cooperative members pool their buying power and get the best available competitive market price for a typical term of up to 36 months for Commercial accounts and 12 Months for residential Accounts. The program also saves Chamber members the time and expense of evaluating offers from multiple suppliers.”
The program is being administered by CQI Associates. Brian McLemore with QCI, says members have reported saving up to 14% when compared to the utility default rates in spite of the lowest energy prices in four years. “Members report that the average annual savings is typically equal to one month’s billing per year. Now is an excellent time for members interested in achieving long term energy cost savings and budget stability to consider joining in the cooperative for the next 12 to 36 months.”
Commercial Customers can enroll in electricity and natural gas accounts. The application fee is $150.00 for both services per business location. Chamber member businesses are invited to join the Chamber’s Energy Cooperative to reduce energy costs starting this spring. Call the Chamber Office at 309-495-5926 and ask for a Letter of Authorization to be emailed to you. Residential customers can enroll electricity accounts. There is NO application fee but you must enroll on-line and you will need your latest residential electricity bill to complete the enrollment. Click here to complete the residential enrollment. There will be an informational Meeting on October 4 at 1:30 p.m. at The Heartland Partnership office at 100 SW Water Street in Peoria.
