Did you know …… that the City of Peoria (IL) has a “code” for people who have alarm systems at their homes?

This code – City of Peoria Article II, Sec 20-27 and 20-28 – Alarm Systems – provides for a false alarm service fee of $50.00 for each false alarm in excess of three (3) in any calendar year and $100.00 for each false alarm in excess of ten (10) in any calendar year.

There is a ten day period in which you can appeal a false alarm, which would be made at the License Clerk at the Police Department (494-8308). If a person does not appeal and has more than three (3) false alarms in a calendar year, they will receive a separate billing statement sent by the City Hall Finance.
