THEATRE

  • Corn Stock Theatre’s production of “Matilda” continues at Five Points Washington Aug. 2 and 5-8.
  • Chillicothe Players Theatre is presenting “The Great Gatsby” at Shore Acres clubhouse Aug. 6-9
  • Corn Stock Theatre’s Lab Theater Center will stage “Into The Woods” Aug. 14-16, 19-23, 26 and 30.

DANCE

  • Argentine Tango Practica will be at the Contemporary Art Center Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
  • Salsa at the CAC’s “All White Attire Night” is at the Contemporary Art Center Aug. 21.

Stone & Snow will be on the card at a fundraiser for the Friends of Rocky Glen on Aug. 7 at Pour Bros. Craft Taproom. The Mighty Pines and Barry Cloyd will also perform with Brian Fox Ellis.

MUSIC

  • Don’t miss the Peoria Municipal Band final shows of the season: Aug. 2 at Glen Oak Park, Aug. 5 in the Warehouse District, and Aug. 9 back at Glen Oak Park.
  • The Friends of Rocky Glen will benefit from an Aug. 7 fundraiser at Pour Bros. Craft Taproom featuring the Mighty Pines, Stone & Snow, and Barry Cloyd with Brian Fox Ellis.
  • Award-winning country music recording artist Tracy Lawrence is scheduled to play the Peoria Civic Center Theater Aug 7.
  • The River City Soul Fest and Gospel Fest will celebrate its 27th year Aug. 7-8 at the Riverfront Festival Park.
  • Galactic Cowboy Orchestra will be Live at the Five Spot at the Contemporary Art Center Aug. 14.
  • The Indo-American Society and the Peoria Park District are producing India Fest at CEFCU Center Stage Aug. 15.
  • The Central Illinois Jazz Society is presenting Pippi & the Daniel Leahy Band at the Trailside Event Center on Aug. 16.
  • The female Irish band BIIRD will play a “street party” at Kelleher’s Aug. 18, with the Roundstone Buskers opening the show.
  • “Decades of Decadence: the ultimate ’80s rock party,” is set for Aug. 21 at CEFCU Center Stage.
  • Dexter O’Neal & Funkyard will be Live at the Five Spot at the Contemporary Art Center Aug. 28.
  • The annual Peoria Irish Fest will be Aug. 28-30 on the riverfront.
  • The Peoria Drum Circle presents “Rhythm is the Forest” at the Forest Park Nature Center Aug. 30.
