PreK program accepting students

The PreKindergarten program at Immaculate Conception Convent in West Peoria is currently accepting students. The PreK program is celebrating its 70th birthday this year and was a pacesetter for other early childhood classes in the area.

To be considered, students must be at least three years of age by September 1. Traditionally, three year olds attend class Monday, Wednesday and Friday; four year olds attend Monday through Friday. Class is from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. The first day of school is always the Tuesday after Labor Day and final day is the Friday before Memorial Day.

Founded in 1891, the Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception have called West Peoria their home since 1912. Today they serve the Dioceses of Peoria and Springfield in ministries that include, but are not limited to: prayer, care of the elderly(St. Joseph’s HomeCare, Peoria and St. Joseph’s Home of Springfield), campus ministry, adult literacy, pastoral care, education, spirituality and diocesan offices.
