June 4 – 6 – Peoria Players Theatre presents Always…Patsy Cline. After two successful runs, this delightful production returns to the Peoria Players stage starring local favorites Cheri Beever in the role of “Patsy Cline” and Maureen O’Haenny as her best friend “Louise.” This hugely popular musical play is about the legendary country singer and her most devoted fan. The show runs at 7:30 p.m. on June 4 and 5, and at 2:30 p.m. on June 6. Tickets are just $17 for adults/$12 for patrons 18 and under. Call 688-4473.

June 4 – 12 – Corn Stock Theatre presents- The King & I Musical – East versus West makes for a dramatic, richly textured and ultimately uplifting tale of enormous fascination. Recurring weekly on Sunday, Friday, Saturday. Call 309-676-2196 for times. Admission: Adults – $18 and Students – $12.

June 5 – The 5th Annual Art Fair at Junction City – 0:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Junction City Shopping Center. Call (309) 637-2787. Admission: FREE. This showcases the talents of local artists residing within 150 miles of Peoria. The Young Artists Show features the artwork of children from kindergarten through high school from the tri-county area. This event also features live music, and a Kid’s Art Fair where children can create “make & take” pieces for home as well.

June 5 – Lakeview Museum Meteor Shower – from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Lakeview Museum. Admissions is $8; $2 for members. Call 686-7000.

June 5 – Crop Til You Drop – The Junior League of Peoria will host an all day scrap booking crop from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. at their headquarters. Included is a free gift, raffles, use of all equipment, supplies available for purchase, training tips provided and a swap table, a lunch entree will be provided, please bring a snack to share. June 5 – 26 – Peoria Riverfront Market – from 8:00 a.m. – noon. Call 309-671-5555. Don’t miss out on the best selection of fresh produce, local meats, eggs, berries, breads and cheeses in Central Illinois. Everything is locally grown. It also features pottery, blown glass, jewelry, wood turned items, candles, soaps and more! Located across from the Illinois Antique Center in Liberty Park. Plenty of free parking.

June 10 – The general meeting of the Peoria County Genealogical Society will be at 101 State Street, the location of the genealogy collection for the Peoria Public Library. The feature guest speaker is Michael E Baietto, who will present a history of Detweiller Park. Baietto is the current superintendent of parks in Peoria.  The meeting begins at 7:00 pm.

June 12 – Moss Avenue Sale – This is the only fundraiser for MBRA and the proceeds are used to beautify the common areas, donate to worthy causes and having great parties. Proceeds also purchase the greens with which the lamp poles are decorated at Christmas. This is a family event. Call 309-676-7900 for more info.

June 12 – River City Bags Tournament – at Kelleher’s Irish Pub. This event benefits the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Bring a lawn chair to relax in between matches. Remember – no outside food and drink are permitted. You can pick up packets on Friday night from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. You can pick up packets on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.

June 12 – 13 – 19th Annual Return to Pimiteoui Pow Wow – at W.H. Sommer Park- Edwards, IL. Call (309) 691-8423. Admission- $5.00 per vehicle. Saturday 12th- 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 13th- 10:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

June 13 – The Heartland Festival Orchestra and Artistic Director David Commanday with violin soloist Lara St. John  to perform “Vivaldi in the Vineyard” a special performance of the 8 Seasons and wine tasting at 2:00 p.m. at the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard. June 17 – 19 – Steamboat Sports Festival – Downtown Peoria. Contact Peoria Area Community Events at 309-681-0696. These are internationally known annual events which include the Steamboat Classic foot races and the Proctor Cycling Classic. It combines a carnival, food fair, music, entertainment, motorcycle stunt shows and powerboat races in a family-friendly atmosphere.

June 17 – 25 — Conklin’s Barn II Dinner Theatre presents- “G.I. Jukebox” – This is a terrific night out at the stage door canteen. It’s a comic and nostalgic musical retrospective of an America we’ll never see again. Call. (309) 965-2545.

June 19 – 20 – Jubilee Olde English Faire – an annual Renaissance event featuring jousting on horseback, games, storytelling, arts, crafts and jewelry vendors, magicians, dancing and music, puppeteers, children’s activities, and more! Located at Wildlife Prairie State Park at the Parkside Pavilion. Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. June 20 – The Central Illinois Jazz Society Presents the CIJS House Band at 6:00 p.m.

June 25 – July 3 – Corn Stock Theatre presents- Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up Musical – Focusing on eight children during their Catholic elementary and high school education in the 1950’s, it captures the funniest aspects of youthful growing pains and the trying moments of adolescence.
