Babies and seniors make beautiful music together

Imagine a setting where multiple generations, from tiny babies to senior citizens, come together to share, learn and grow through the joys of music. If you think that sounds like a beautiful setting, you’re right.

Kindermusik, the world’s leading music and movement program for young children, has been offering music education curricula for children to age 7 for nearly a quarter century. But including seniors in the program is a relatively new concept now available to Kindermusik educators.

Under the “Village® With Seniors” concept, licensed Kindermusik educators conduct a very special version of a Kindermusik Village class. The class, originally designed for children from newborns to age 18 months, incorporates the limited participation of a small group of older adults.

By participating in this class, seniors will have an opportunity to experience the joy of participating with and watching babies learn and grow through the incredible power of music. At the same time, older adults provide a special and unique resource for infants and toddlers and a richness and deep appreciation of parenting that many young mothers and fathers might seldom experience due to physical distances with their own families.
